Ready Built Tweed Deluxe:
I toyed with the idea of building my own Tweed Deluxe from one of the Marsh kits for a while, but when I found that they offered ready built ones as well I did not hang around. I was able to order it online with the UK spec transformer and lacquered Tweed for that true vintage look.
When the amp arrived it was well packed and all the tubes were secure. The amp, when it was all unpacked, was beautiful. I stood and just looked at it for about 15 minutes. After close inspection I found the build quality to be second to none and I am sure far better than what I could have attempted. All I had to do was change the plug and away I went.
Well I was playing all night. The tone was all I expected and more, all I could do was smile. The sound starts to break up at relatively low volumes (between 3 & 4) and if you push it beyond you are in tone heaven. I did not think it was going to be this good. I have had several modern Fender amps over the years, Pro Juniors and Blues Juniors which are good small amps, but this is just another level completely. I have tried vintage Tweed Deluxes and this is as close you will get at a quarter of the price and without the worry of having 45 year old plus components. This amp was bang on what I was looking for. It just delivered on all fronts, build quality, components, workmanship, look and of course sound. I am more than happy with it.
