"The amp arrived a week prior to its scheduled build-out date and is everything and more than I dreamed of in ONE amp head. The tweed cover is absolutely GORGEOUS, hearkening back to an earlier age of bluesmen and new-fangled things called "guitar amplifiers." Knobs and straight forward switches on the front and back allow ease of use and set up. All professionally installed and eye-catching. A peak inside the guts of the amp is like looking at a "tacky little pamplet in your daddy's bottom drawer." Exciting to look at its neatness and appearance as opposed to that found in store bought amps that are made by a robot. This was done with care and appreciation for the TONE it will soon produce.
However, don't let its appearance fool you into thinking this is some ordinary old tube amp from the 50s. The clean tones do ring like a BELL, but when you wanna get dirty, the tones are downright NASTY. I felt every sound from every classic rock and electric blues album I ever have heard in my 46 laps around the sun by clicking the switches on the footpedal and turning a few knobs. I have since removed my old trusty TS-808 from my effects chain because it has now become obsolete to me as this is a grown-up's amplifier. Look for my hot-rodded TS-808 on eBay for a nostalgic trip back to something you used as a child, such as Fender Twins, Marshalls JCMs, Tonka Trucks or GI Joes with the Kung Fu grip.
And, not forgetting to talk about harmonic overtones, however, honestly this amount of space is insufficient to describe the harmonics, sustain and frequency response this amazing magic box offers even the average player like me.
Playing my PRS Custom Artist, USA Franken-Strat, and Gibson Les Paul Junior (with that screaming P-90) thru my 1x15 cab with JBL ML-15 speaker is like living in some kind of guitar paradise. The tones and harmonics cover the entire spectrum. Minutes turn into hours and hours, well, add up to an eternity of Heavenly tones. Thank you SO MUCH Mike for building the amp of my dreams. Cheerz to you, my tone guru!"
