I've been involved with electronics projects for over 20 years. I set out to build my own champ amp from parts on the internet. I quickly realized that I would spend more than $429 to assemble the parts that Mike has in his kits--and without any instructions or documentation. I purchased my kit from Mike on e-bay. For $424 plus s/h I received a champ kit with high quality parts, orange drop caps, TAD filter caps, and a high quality Weber alnico speaker. The kit arrived within a week and was packaged extremely well. I could not believe the quality of the parts and the Mojo cabinet. It took me about 8 hours to complete working a few hours nights and weekends. I followed the detailed instructions and my amp powered up the first time with no issues. The sound is truly amazing. The kit came with new JJ tubes and Sovtek 5Y3GT rectifier, but I'm using new old stock RCA tubes in my build--warm and full of tone. I didn't have to contact Mike to build this kit, but new that if I did, he is one of the few who go the extra mile. I will probably build a 5E3 deluxe in the future. I researched other kits on the internet and Mike's are of the highest quality and lowest price! You can't beat a Marsh kit. Mike, I can't thank you enough!
Best regards, Dave Adams (a.k.a. "swaptronics").
